A bomb scare has evacuated a small portion of Singer Island.

Earlier today, Riviera Beach Police received a telephoned bomb threat from a male who claimed he had planted bombs under or around several cars near the City's Municipal Beach near the 2600 North Ocean Drive.

Authorities have evacuated businesses at Ocean Mall and have started a search. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is assisting in the search.

The search process could take up to 1½ hours.
