PBSO hunts for Palm Springs nightclub shooter

Area shops claim nightclub shooting hurts business

PALM SPRINGS, Fla. - The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is on the hunt Sunday for the gunman who shot and killed a man outside a Palm Springs nightclub.

Investigators said a fight broke out inside Tabu Nightclub near the 2600 block of Forest Hill Boulevard that carried out into the street. Palm Springs Police said when they arrived they found a man shot dead in the parking lot of Bellante's Pizza.

Police remain on scene until late Sunday morning, a time when many businesses in the area open.

The manager of Red Parrot Bar and Grill said the shooting hurts the reputation of the entire shopping center and is bad for business.

"We have a lot of restaurants and businesses in the area, they come here after work. They want to relax. You can't relax when you know you just want to go and sit and have a drink and there's a crime scene going on next door and you can't even get in the doors. I mean they have everything blocked off," said Beth Shaw of Red Parrot Bar and Grill.

The shooting on Sunday was not the first time police had to be called out to Tabu. In February, police responded to a beating and stabbing.

The name of the man who was shot and killed has not been released. PBSO did confirm the man who was killed is not from the area.
