PALM BEACH, Fla. - So ask yourself, “Do you feel lucky?” You might be! One winning ticket sold in Palm Beach matched all six numbers to score the Florida Lotto’s $4 million jackpot Saturday night. The winning numbers are: 09, 10, 23, 24, 37 and 38. The Xtra ball number is 4.
How would you spend an extra $4 million?
“I don’t know what I would do,” said Pat Andrews of Palm Beach, pondering the question. “I think I would run out and have a beautiful time!”
Someone who walked into the Palm Beach Publix supermarket on Sunset Avenue can do just that, after walking out with Saturday’s only winning Florida Lotto ticket.
“Spectacular!” exclaimed Pink Trousdale of Palm Beach. “Of course, this is Palm Beach. Where else would this happen? That’s wonderful news?
Four million dollars is a far cry from the Florida Lotto’s record $100 million jackpot in 2002, but Regan Katz of West Palm Beach is not one to be greedy. He says even the $2.3 million lump sum payout would be enough.
"One to pay off the bills and one to live on,” he said.
It’s easy to look around and wonder if anyone you see could be the winner. The truth is, no one has come forward yet; however, people who frequent the Publix supermarket in Palm Beach say the winner is a man and he shops there almost every day.
“No, it wasn’t me, unfortunately,” admitted Jacques DeJoux of Palm Beach, “but I do buy tickets once in awhile.”
Dave Pellico of West Palm Beach told his employees to check their numbers.
“Several of them bought tickets here and one of them might be the winner,” he said. When we asked him if he won, he said, “I wish! I wouldn’t be here if it was me!”
The Florida Lottery Commission is waiting to see who comes forward with the winning ticket. In the meantime, the rest of us can always try our luck with the next drawing.
