By Tuesday afternoon, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office was stationed along Southern Boulevard at Washington Road and S. Flagler Drive, in preparation of the President's arrival.

Road closures began near Mar-a-Lago on Palm Beach at 5 a.m. Barricades are now up on both sides of the resort and you can't pass through.

All forms of travel will be prohibited on S. Ocean Boulevard between S. County Road and Southern Boulevard until Monday, Nov. 26. The travel restrictions will also extend eastward to the ocean.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, flight restrictions will be in place from 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday until 9 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 26.

Road Closures

The town of Palm Beach says all forms of travel, including pedestrian travel, will be prohibited on South Ocean Boulevard from the intersection of South County Road to Southern Boulevard. The travel restrictions will also extend eastward to the ocean.

Only residents living between South County and Woodbridge road will be granted access to this restricted zone with proper identification. These restrictions will be in effect until midnight on Nov. 26.

If you are traveling south on South County Road or South Ocean Boulevard, drivers will be redirected north of this intersection. There will be traffic cones and barricades directing you back north.

If you are traveling east on Southern Boulevard, you will only be allowed to exit south onto South Ocean Boulevard at the Southern Causeway.

If you are traveling north on South Ocean Boulevard, drivers will have to exit onto westbound Southern Blvd at the Southern Causeway.

To avoid delays, if you are north of midtown, please use the Royal Park (Middle) Bridge and Flagler Memorial (North) Bridge. If you are south of midtown, use the Lake Worth Bridge to avoid the congestion around Mar-a-Lago.

Please contact the Palm Beach Police Department if you have any questions at 561-838-5454.

Last year, the president and first lady spent time with Coast Guard members on Thanksgiving, saluting them for their bravery and service.
