On this 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination one of his local admirers remembers the heady days when Palm Beach became a frequent destination for the president.
Jim Ponce is 96 years old now. That's the same age JFK would be if he were alive today.
In the 1960's, the Kennedys often came to their family compound on Palm Beach and Ponce helped handle the crush of reporters who stayed at the Palm Beach Towers.
"When he announced he was heading for Palm Beach, like I say, we had no idea we were about to become the winter White House," Ponce said.
Hear Ponce's recollections as he talks to NewsChannel 5's Michael Williams.
