The Minnesota couple accused of welfare fraud while living for a time on a luxury yacht in Palm Beach County is in police custody tonight.
Colin and Andrea Chisholm were arrested at Port Everglades Monday and are being held at the Broward County Jail without bond, NBC6.com reports.
According to KARE.com, the couple is charged with bilking Minnesota public assistance programs for more than $165,000 between January 2005 and March 2012.
NBC6 says the Chisholms made a few payments on the yacht they bought while in Florida for $1.2 million, but it was repossessed by the Coast Guard.
KARE says agents at every port in Florida were on the lookout for the couple. It says they were told by police in the Bahamas that their visas had expired and when they arrived in Fort Lauderdale they were arrested.
