Palm Beach International Airport holds emergency drill

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Emergency crews descended on Palm Beach International Airport Wednesday morning. But it was only a drill.

Several agencies responded to a simulated aircraft incident.

According to the airport the drill “is conducted as realistically as possible incorporating special effects, trauma makeup, dozens of rescue and law enforcement professionals and over 40 actors to achieve its goal.”

The exercise takes place every three years and is required by the Federal Aviation Administration.
