New preliminary flood maps, which could change how much homeowners pay for flood insurance, will be on display for Palm Beach County residents starting Monday.
FEMA unveiled the maps for Palm Beach County in August.
This comes after an outcry last year from several people who claimed the old maps had errors that put some parts of the county in high-risk flood zones.
Because of the maps, insurance rates skyrocketed.
FEMA will show off the new maps during a series of public meetings in September.
The maps will become effective after a public comment period for residents and property owners.
Below is a list of the four open house dates and locations the public can view the new maps:
Each of the meetings will take place between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on these dates.
