Seth Adams shooting case: Family marks one month since fatal PBSO shooting of Loxahatchee Groves man

LOXAHATCHEE GROVES, Fla. -- Sunday marked one month since the shooting death of unarmed Loxahatchee Groves man Seth Adams.

Investigators said Adams was shot by Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputy Michael Custer, who told investigators Adams lunged for his neck and left him no choice but to fire his weapon.

Adams' family continued to disagree with the account Sunday night as they marked the occasion by pushing forward in a new direction.

The family just hired a new law firm to represent them through a private investigation, the LaBovick Law Group.

"The family was hoping to get some more assistance on the case and we'll be working with everyone we can including prior assistance," said Brian LaBovick.

LaBovick said the Adams family feels progress has been minimal in the 31 days that have transpired since Adams was shot and killed.

"Today is a very hard day for Seth's family and for the Adams family," said LaBovick.

The Adams family, who said they wanted to mourn in private, lit candles and penned personal messages to their loved one to mark the one-month marker on Sunday.

"It's been a terrible month. I think they felt of whirlwind of things happen and at the same time, they feel they were caught in the middle of a tornado," said LaBovick.

LaBovick said past the one month marker of the shooting, his team will be pushing in their investigation for answers to what they call the lingering questions that still remain.

In addition to the one month marker since Adams was shot and killed, Sunday also marked the first Father's Day without Adams and his parents 34th wedding anniversary.
