It's light out for one neighborhood in The Acreage and residents are frustrated after they saw power trucks waiting in an empty lot less than three miles away.

It's all flashlights and candles for the Smith family, but that's not the worse part.

"Yeah, we've pretty much lost everything that's in our freezer," said Greg Smith.

The family says they are grateful that there was no significant damage. They lost power at their home off Banyan Boulevard around 11 o'clock at night Thursday. He says FPL told residents power would be restored in 24 hours.

"They said it would be on today by 11:45 p.m. and now they're saying tomorrow by 11:45, we just want answers," said Smith.

Smith says he tried to get answers when he saw a fleet of power trucks parked in the Old Winn Dixie parking lot on Seminole Pratt Whitney Road, about 3 miles from his neighborhood.

"There were at least 25 power trucks just waiting for orders," he added.

Smith says utility workers said they can't go to any specific neighborhood unless they're given orders to. People on Smith's block say it's frustrating to go through one more night without power when there's no visible damage on their street.

"Very frustrating, especially when you initially get damage to this extent," said Ed Galante as he held up a palm frond.

"We're very thankful we did not get hit hard. I feel horrible for the people in Haiti and for the people up further north in Florida that are along the coast," said Jacquelyn Smith. "We don't mean to complain, but it just doesn't make sense to have people that came down to help that can't help because of whatever is happening, the system that's in place," added Jacquelyn.

FPL emails say the company will have the majority of customers in Palm Beach County restored by Friday night and all of them by Saturday.
