Rainforest Bird Clinic holds bird adoption today to find homes for birds confiscated from Jupiter

Workers at the Rainforest Bird Clinic will host a bird adoption today, hoping to find forever homes for dozens of birds taken from a home in Jupiter, that had unhealthy living conditions.

Palm Beach county animal care and control raided the home of an 84 year old man nearly three weeks ago, confiscating 109 birds, as well as dogs, ferrets, rabbits and fish.

Rescuers said the man became overwhelmed with caring for all the animals.

The birds were turned over to the Rainforest Bird Clinic in Loxahatchee by veterinarians.

Caretakers said only few of the birds required medical attention.

Veterinarians said majority of the birds were in good condition.

The adoption is from 11am to 4pm.

Those interested in adopting must fill out an application.
