Aneth McCarthy: Cobra bite victim says she's 'lucky to be alive'

Aneth McCarthy says she is lucky to be alive after a two foot cobra sank its fangs into her finger.

The expert wildlife trainer received ten injections of anti-venom so far and was smiling from her hospital bed at Palm West Hospital Friday night.

McCarthy says she was cleaning its cage no different than she had done before when the reptile struck with such quickness and that is what caught her off guard.

Her condition is improving despite nearly going unconsciousness hours after the strike.

She had trouble speaking for a period of time.

She will remain in the hospital until swelling in her arm and fingers goes down and her overall condition improves which could take days.
