PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - The last of 8 truckloads of donated food arrived at the Palm Beach County Food Bank warehouse Friday in Lantana.
It was the largest donation to the food bank to date. The massive amount of food was given by the Publix Food for Sharing program. Over the holidays customers donated money at checkouts in all Palm Beach County Publix stores.
The food bank will now distribute the food to 96 different locations across the county.
Wendy Jones of the Lake Worth Food Pantry said, “We are so grateful for the Palm Beach County Food Bank because they help us feed the hungry people in South Florida. We could not do it all on our own…it really is a team effort.”
If you are in need of some food, call 2-1-1 for the nearest food distribution spot or go to the PBC Food Bank Web site
