LANTANA, Fla. - A small plane crashed Tuesday morning at the Lantana Airport after having problems with its landing gear, according to officials.
At 9:54 a.m. rescue crews responded to the scene and found a twin engine Cessna had landed without its gear down.
The aircraft was on the runway on its belly with two occupants inside.
Witnesses say they saw the aircraft coming into the runway faster than normal.
"Well it's a sad day for the guy (pilot) because it’s his airplane. You know it's going to require a lot of work to get it back. But the important thing is that everyone is all right. That's always number one," said pilot Warner Boyd who witnessed the hard landing.
No one was injured.
