SUBURBAN LAKE WORTH, Fla. - Authorities have identified the 16-year-old teen shot Friday evening in suburban Lake Worth as Emilie Sineace.

Sineace succumbed to her injuries Saturday afternoon, said Teri Barbera, spokeswoman for Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Barbera said the teen exited her residence in the 6200 block of Plains Drive around 9:30 p.m. and a few minutes later came back inside her home and collapsed. Family members discovered she had been shot numerous times and called 911.

Sineace was flown to Delray Medical Center where she later died.

Family members told NewsChannel 5 that they didn't know how the shooting happened or why anyone would want to harm her.

No arrests have been made in the shooting and deputies have not been able to obtain any information about a possible suspect, Barbera said.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting or who has information regarding this crime is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-458-TIPS (8477).
