LAKE WORTH, Fla. - A possible lightning strike on a Lake Worth Home caused light smoke and flames on the rooftop, said Captain Albert Borroto, spokesman of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
When rescue crews arrived around 3:40 p.m. in the 6000 block of Hudson Bay Lane, they found a possible lightning strike with a one-by-two foot hole in the roof of the home. The fire was quickly extinguished, Borroto said.
Rescue crews investigated inside of the home to confirm that there was no hidden fire and assisted the homeowner with covering the opening in the roof with tarp, said Borroto.
There were three people inside of the home, four cats, and one dog and there were no injuries, Borroto said.
