PBSO deputy on three-wheeler hit by truck, flown to hospital

Investigators: Driver intentionally fled

LAKE WORTH, Fla. —Investigators now believe a driver knew he hit a deputy Sunday and intentionally left the scene.

Deputy Diane Christian was patrolling a city alleyway on a three-wheeled motor scooter, when a pickup backed into her, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office describes the driver of the vehicle which fled as a Hispanic male.

Christian was hit at about 10 a.m. in the 400 block of South L Street Sunday. Sheriff's spokeswoman Teri Barbera said Christian was flown by Trauma Hawk to Delray Medical Center.

She is currently listed in stable condition.

Deputies are searching for a faded blue pickup with a "Semper Fi" sticker on the back. "Semper Fidelis," always faithful, is the motto of the U.S. Marines Corps. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
