LAKE WORTH, Fla. - A 5-month-old boy suffered severe injuries after being left with an "extremely drunk" Lake Worth man, according to an arrest affidavit.
The injuries included a fractured skull, four broken ribs, a bite mark on his forearm, bruising on his eye and swelling on his head and a fracture to his thigh bone, according to authorities.
On Friday night Lance Robert Justice went to a relative's house located in the 100 block of Meadow Woode Drive in Royal Palm Beach. According to a police report, family members left the home and left Justice to take care of the four children.
On Sunday morning family members said they noticed injuries one child suffered and took him to the hospital.
The infant was listed in stable condition after he was examined in the trauma unit of St. Mary's Medical Center, according to the arrest affidavit. When examined at the hospital, doctors said the infant's injuries were a consequence of "inflicted injuries and abuse."
Justice told doctors the child fell out of a toddler bed.
Justice, 27, was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse on Tuesday. He is being held on a $250,000 bail.
Justice told deputies he was extremely drunk when he was at his relative's home and "blacked out." He also said he did not remember much about the night and did not know what happened to the baby.
