Lake Worth man charged with drinking in public and the illegal use of a milk crate

LAKE WORTH, Fla. - Two men accused of drinking beers in the open have been arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say that around 6:47 p-m on Tuesday they spotted Pope Brownfield and Jeffrey Faulkner consuming 16 ounce Hurricane Beers out of a can in the 4400 block of Hypoluxo Road in unincorporated Lake Worth.

Brownfield, according to deputies, was sitting on a milk crate and Faulkner was in a wheelchair.

Both Brownfield and Faulkner were charged with knowingly consuming or drinking an alcoholic beverage within 500 feet of a commercial establishment.

Brownfield was also charged with violating Florida Statue 506.508 which covers the illegal use of milk crates along with egg containers, poultry box, bakery container or shopping container that has a registered name on it.

Both men were arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.
