Lake Worth man Alfred Josey charged with attacking two women, two children with knife

LAKE WORTH, Fla. — A 52-year-old Lake Worth man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly attacked two women and two children with a knife Sunday evening.

Alfred Josey is facing two counts of aggravated child abuse and two counts of aggravated battery. The incident occurred at about 6:20 p.m. Sunday in an apartment complex in the 1800 block of North A Street.

A woman told Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputies that Josey is her roommate and had accused her of stealing his wallet. Josey allegedly stabbed the woman in her left breast, leaving a half-inch puncture wound, and he also cut her neck and left arm above the elbow, leaving a 5-inch scratch in both areas.

A 14-year-old came to the woman's defense and was stabbed in the back of the left shoulder, an arrest report said. The woman's 8-year-old daughter tried to defend her mother and received a scratch on the left side of her neck, just below her ear, the report said.

One of the victims ran to get a cousin, who responded to the apartment and was cut on her left hand, the report said.

At some point during the struggle, Josey was outside and fell and hit his head on the sidewalk. Two unidentified people found Josey being beaten up and intervened to stop the fight, the report said. He was transported to JFK Medical Center to be treated. The stab and cut victims refused hospital treatment.

Josey was later booked into the Palm Beach County Jail.
