Javid Gayle, Kristin Simmons arrested with 66 pounds of pot in Lake Worth

LAKE WORTH, Fl. - A wooden crate being tracked by agents from Homeland Security Investigations along with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's office led to the arrest of two people on drug trafficking charges.

Investigators says that federal agents along with PBSO were conducting surveillance at a storage facility on Barnett Drive in Lake Worth.

An arrest report issued by the PBSO says that agents were following the shipment of a wooden crate that contained a large amount of marijuana.

Agents say that they spotted an individual receiving the crate from a delivery truck and placing it in a locked storage bay.

Javid Gayle, according to agents, was spotted driving up to the storage locker, going in and then opening the crate.

Gayle was then arrested, as was Kristin Simmons who was waiting by her car.

A search warrant was issued by a Palm Beach County Judge and investigators opened the crate and found it contained 66.4 pounds of marijuana.

Investigators say that Gayle and Simmons had three small children with them at the time they went to retrieve the wooden crate.

Both Gayle and Simmons were arrested  on drug trafficking and child abuse charges and booked into the Palm Beach County jail.
