Pedro Rodriguez: Lake Worth man killed in I-95 crash

LAKE WORTH, Fla. - A 37-year-old man from Lake Worth was killed overnight in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 95 South.

The wreck occurred between 10th Avenue North and Forest Hill Boulevard around 2:30 a.m. Friday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Pedro Rodriguez was driving a 2006 Chrysler 300 south when he collided with a tractor-trailer driven by Daniel R. Mauldin, 58, of Slocomb, Ala.

Rodriguez's car spun clockwise into the right shoulder where it hit a concrete barrier and came to final rest in the right shoulder facing northeast.

Rodriguez was ejected and came to rest in the exit lane of 10th Avenue North and pronounced dead at Delray Medical Center.

Mauldin was not hurt.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation

Multiple lanes of the interstate were closed overnight, but all lanes were back open by 5:45 a.m.
