Jack Diaz: Man arrested after PBSO says he impersonated officer to rob a victim of his wallet

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office arrested 32-year-old Jack Diaz and charged him with two counts of "Robbery - no firearm or weapon" and one count of "Resist Officer - Obstruct without violence."

PBSO says Diaz verbally identified himself as a law enforcement officer on July 11, demanding identification from a victim he pulled over.

He told the victim he ran a red light on his bicycle and needed to see his ID.

When the victim attempted to produce a photo ID, Diaz snatched his wallet and fled.

On July 18, Diaz was interviewed by police and found to be deceptive and implicated himself in additional robberies.

A search warrant was executed on his residence and evidence was recovered.

Detectives believe there may be other victims and urge anyone who has been a victim or anyone who knows anyone who may have been a victim of Diaz to please contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
