A man suspected of trying to steal a plane from Palm Beach County Airport Park is in custody

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - UPDATE: This suspect has been identified as 36-year-old Carl Blais aka: Carl Blaze. A warrant was issued for his arrest. He is currently in the custody of detectives.


The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office wants the public's help in finding a man suspected of trying to steal a small plane from the county Airport Park on June 17.

Sometime between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. that day, the man gained access to a 2005 Cessna 172s, which was stored at Palm Beach Flight School at the park, on Lantana Road east of Congress Avenue, a sheriff's office statement said.

The man drove the plane for about 50 feet until he crashed into another parked plane. The man then fled on foot.
