GREENACRES, Fla. - A man who worked for a senior living facility in Greenacres has been arrested on charges that he stole credit cards and jewelry from the residents who live there.
Police said that Jude Atice was a kitchen worker at Arbor Oaks and delivered food to the residents' rooms.
Greenacres police said that they received reports from family members of residents at the facility that their credit cards were fraudulently used and jewelry had been stolen from their rooms.
Officers said that one of the credit cards was used to purchase gasoline even though the resident does not own a car or have access to travel from Arbor Oaks due to the fact that he requires constant care.
According to police, Atice made credit card purchases equal to $2,288.
Police said they were also able to link Atice to gold and jewelry that was sold to pawn stores in the area.
One of the items, according to police was a 10 karat yellow heart of gold pendant that says "mom" on it.
Police said that Atice's thumbprint was found on it along with other items sold at the pawn store.
Atice has been booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on charges of exploitation of the elderly, dealing in stolen property and false verification of ownership.
