Greenacres police are searching for Wal-Mart robbery suspect

GREENACRES, Fla - A search is underway by Greenacres police for a suspect who tried unsuccessfully to rob a Wal-Mart store at 6294 Forrest Hill Boulevard, investigators say.

According to police, Saturday night around 6 a man with a handgun approached a cashier at her register and demanded money. The employee fled and ran to the rear of the store.

The suspect, according to police, then tried using several exterior emergency doors to leave the store.

The man then pointed a gun at another employee demanding that she tell him how to leave the store, according to investigators.  The woman ran off.

The suspect managed to get out of the store using an emergency rear door and ran towards Sherwood Forest Boulevard.

Greenacres police say that they are looking for a man approximately 6 feet tall between 20 and 30 years of age wearing a covering on his head.
