Greenacres officer Ervans Saintclair arrested, accused of uninformed HIV infected sexual intercourse

There may be additional victims, detectives say

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. -  A Greenacres police officer has been arrested for 'uninformed HIV infected sexual intercourse', according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Officer Ervans Saintclair posted bail Friday evening.

He is on administrative leave, pending the conclusion of the criminal investigation, a Greenacres police spokesman said.

According to the department, Saintclair has been employed with the Greenacres Department of Public Safety as a police officer since May 2007.

According to a probable cause affidavit, "It would appear Saintclair had been diagnosed and/or knew of his HIV infection in 2007 as a result of a pre-employment blood testing by the City of Greenacres."

The affidavit says a woman claims she met Saintclair in 2009 when they lived in the same apartment complex. She said they began to date and had a sexual relationship on and off for several years and he never told her about his HIV infection.

The sheriff's office report states that an investigator met with another person who admitted having unprotected sexual contact with Saintclair two times in mid to late 2010 and claims he did not inform her of his infection.

Sheriff's detectives believe there may be additional victims.

They are urged to contact Detective Mike Sclafani at 561/688-4133 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
