Drake Memorial: Dr. Ken Simmons and the Simmons Veterinary Hospital raise funds for K-9 memorial

Plans to build a memorial to the K9, "Drake"  are on! Thanks to your generosity, Dr. Ken Simmons and the Simmons Veterinary Hospital have reached its goal of collecting 15-thousand dollars by today's deadline.

The hospital has been raising donations to build a monument to Florida Highway Patrol K9 Trooper "Drake", and all of our canine heroes.

Last November Drake was shot by intruders breaking into Trooper Bobby Boody's home. After days of intensive treatment and care, it was decided Drake had to be euthanized. Dr. Simmons' plan is to create a life-sized bronze
sculpture in Drake's honor.

He would also like to set up a series of benefits for retired K9s.

To donate to this cause, or learn more about it, go to simmonsvet.com (the Drake memorial) or go directly to kickstarter.com "Remembering Drake" site.
