Driver charged in fatal hit-and-run wreck last year near Palm Springs

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suburban Lake Worth man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash near Palm Springs last year.

The wreck occurred Oct. 14 at 4:38 a.m. at the intersection Military Trail and Purdy Lane, injuring a pedestrian identified as Samuel Lee Williams.

 

Williams later died on Oct. 26. from injuries he sustained in the collision.

Heraldo Caralampio Escalante Roblero, 29, was booked Wednesday afternoon at the Palm Beach County Jail.

Roblero faces charges of leaving the scene of a crash causing death and driving under the influence.

On Thursday,  a judge set Roblero’s bond at $75,000. The judge also revoked Roblero’s bond from a previous DUI case.

If Roblero gets out of jail, he cannot contact Williams’s family, he must surrender his passport and take a weekly test to ensure he does not consumer drugs or alcohol.
