PALM SPRINGS, Fla.-- Guided by a PBSO SWAT Team wearing night vision glasses, attendees at the Dining in the Dark event will be escorted through a darkened ballroom for the 10th Annual Thomas Hartig Dining in the Dark event.

During the meal, diners will have to rely on senses of smell, taste, sound and texture and experience more intimately what those who are blind experience every day.

The idea is to raise awareness and money for the Florida Outreach for the Blind or FOCB.  The FOCB training facility helps people who are blind and visually impaired.

The event is Sunday, November 6 at 5 p.m. at the Airport Hilton in Palm Springs.  There is a three-course meal, silent auction, raffle and live entertainment.

Individual tickets at $75 and private table reservations for $650 are both available.  More details can be found at http://www.blindfocb.org.htm
