Deadly crash: Two vehicles collide in suburban West Palm Beach

1 dead, 1 injured

SUBURBAN WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - One person is dead, another injured following an early morning crash in suburban West Palm Beach.

The crash happened at the intersection of Haverhill Road and Gun Club Road.

A Ford Explorer and a Honda Civic collided just after midnight.

According to investigators, the Ford, driven by 32-year-old Mark Kamara, was traveling west on Gun Club at a high rate of speed when it ran a red light and crashed into the Civic which was headed south on Haverhill and driven by 50-year-old Diana Lennard.

Lennard died at the scene.

Kamara was taken to Delray Medical Center with minor injuries, according to investigators. He is a former WPTV off-air employee who left the station in March.

Rescue crews had to cut the wreckage to rescue the victims.
