One dead, one seriously injured after early morning four-car crash on I-95 in Boynton

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. - A 24-year-old man is dead and another man remains in serious condition at Delray Medical Center after a four-car crash early Saturday morning on Interstate 95 in Boynton Beach, Florida Highway Patrol reports. 

The crash happened at approximately 5:30 a.m. between Hypoluxo Road and Gateway Boulevard on I-95.

FHP troopers said a van traveling southbound on I-95 stopped for a pedestrian in the highway. 

The driver of a Ford Escort failed to stop and collided with the left rear of the van.

The Escort then crashed into the Thunderbird. After that impact, the Escort then collided with a Volvo.

The pedestrian, Dustin Rosa, 24, of West Palm Beach died at the scene of the accident.

The driver of the Escort, Antonio Mendoza, 42, of Boynton Beach was taken to Delray Medical Center in serious condition.

The other people involved in the accident had minor or no injuries.
