Another credit card skimmer has been found at a gas station in Palm Beach County.

A Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services investigator discovered a skimmer on a Sunoco gas station pump in the 8800 block of Lantana Road.

The discovery was made during a routine check.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is concerned that you could be a victim of a crime. It urges consumers to check their accounts and to report any unauthorized charges to your bank or credit card company.

Recently two credit card skimmerswere found at the Chevron gas station at the corner of Hypoluxo Road and Military Trail in suburban Boynton Beach. Andfour skimmers were found at a gas station in Port. St. Lucie.

The manager of the Sunoco gas station on Lantana Road says he and his employees are checking pumps every day multiple times a day, but says customers can also do their part.

A safety seal is placed on the side of each front panel at the pump. If it's broken, it means the pump has been tampered with.

"I never gave it a thought," said Albert Tepper who just pumped at the Sunoco station Thursday.

He could be your average person at the pump. He's not looking for credit card skimmers.

"I'd like to give them [customers] advice if they go any pump, not necessarily here, any other pumps; always check the stickers if it's broken better not to use and let us know," said Syed Raza, manager at Sunoco Gas Station on Lantana Road.

Raza says he reviews surveillance video for any suspicious activity at the pumps along with checking the safety seals at each pump.

Safety seals were just added at the Chevron at Hypoluxo Road and Military Trail on Tuesday. Department of Agriculture inspectors found two skimmers at its pumps on Monday.

"That scares me very much," said Donna Harrison, who was pumping at the Chevron.

Harrison says she always checks bank statements for fraud, but didn't know about the tip to check for broken safety seals.

"I think they shoukd put it somewhere visible, a warning sign or something because I would have never known," added Harrison.
