MANGONIA PARK, Fla. (AP) -- A Brinks Security truck driver who delivered cash to ATMs has been arrested on suspicion of stealing more than $31,000.
The Palm Beach Post reports that 26-year-old La Que Jefferson of Vero Beach is being charged with grand theft.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says Jefferson told investigators that he spent the money on a new TV and Xbox game system for his family, in addition to medical bills.
Authorities say that audits of two SunTrust bank ATMS assigned to Jefferson found money missing.
Jefferson told investigators he was sorry, adding that he needed the money for the medical bills and credit card debt. He returned $10,560 of the missing cash.
