The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says it responded to a report of a van in the water around 12:25 p.m. on Tuesday.

Jessie Lynn Pearson was driving westbound along the canal just north of Palm Beach Central High School when she lost control and overturned in the canal.

According to sheriff's deputies, no one saw the van go into the canal, which is just south of Wendy Lane.

The overturned van was found by friends and family who were trying to find her.
