WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - It was an early wake up call Saturday for thousands of breast cancer survivors and their families.
They were taking part in the annual "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" event, sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
It was a sea of pink along the West Palm Beach waterfront. A 5-k walk along Flagler Drive brought out those who are in the middle of their fight, as well as those who have gained the upper hand against cancer.
"My mom is a survivor of 5 years and I was diagnosed in April and I've been working with the American Cancer Society. They've provided me with support., said Donna Foley.
"Now I know how it effects so many people and I wish we could put an end to it.," added Lori Randell, another breast cancer survivor.
More than 15-hundred walkers registered and over 100-thousand dollars was raised.
