Antonio Hernandez-Cruz sentenced to 12 years for 1999 cold case homicide

Antonio Hernandez-Cruz has been sentenced to 12 years in prison in connection with a 2009 cold-case homicide in Palm Beach County.

Police say on March 13, 1999,  Hernandez-Cruz was involved in a fight outside of the Pepe Ecuadorian Club with Roberto Arenas and others. 

Hernandez-Cruz killed Arenas, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Ten years later the case was re-opened. 

PBSO said after a lengthy investigation, an arrest warrant for 2nd degree murder was obtained by detectives.

Hernandez-Cruz was arrested in Oklahoma in August of 2011 by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force. 

Monday Hernandez-Cruz pleaded guilty to manslaughter with a firearm. A judge sentenced him to 12 years in prison.
