A popular food truck is open for business again hours after a violent robbery attempt early Monday morning.

Someone with a gun shot one employee and pistol whipped another at the Tacos al Carbon trailer in Lake Worth.

For one customer who witnessed the scene Monday morning, there was a feeling of fear and frustration.

“People have families, people work for their money, he had his two legs and two arms - go get a job,” he told us, choosing not to show his face on camera. “What are you doing robbing people?”

That customer had just placed his order at the truck early Monday morning, when police say the attempted robbery turned violent.

“The two victims ran out of the trailer, one was holding his leg bleeding, blood everywhere,” the customer says.

Emergency crews rushed both to the hospital where doctors performed emergency surgery on the person shot.

The violent incident was reminiscent of the situation last week at a Metro PCS store - also in Lake Worth.

The difficult to watch video shows the same scenario - the robber shooting one clerk and pistol whipping the other.

News Channel 5 reached out to police - who declined to say whether the two were connected - but say they are exploring all avenues.

They do point out one important difference - unlike the Metro PCS robbery, in the taco truck robbery the suspect wasn't wearing a mask.

“No mask, just a hoodie, and the hoodie was over his head,” the witness told us.

Meanwhile, it was back to business at the taco truck Monday afternoon.

Employees were afraid to go on camera, but told me they're still shaken up from the scary scene.

That witness we spoke to passed on a suspect description to police.

A police spokesperson says they expect to release a sketch Tuesday.

If you have any information on this case, you're asked to call police.
