ONLY ON 5: Father of Mangonia Park homicide victim remembers daughter, searches for answers on death

Investigators say three people died

MANGONIA PARK, Fla. -- - The father of a homicide victim found dead on Monday at Hampton Court Apartments in Mangonia Park does not understand why his daughter was killed.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office investigators said they were called out to the 4700 block of Australian Avenue after getting reports of shots being fired Monday morning.

When investigators arrived, they found a woman and man who had been killed. A third person was found suffering from a gunshot wound but later died at St. Mary's Medical Center.

"(It happened) in broad daylight and now my daughter is dead. This is insane," said Randy Chapman, the father of a victim.

Chapman said his daughter is one of the people found dead. Investigators are not releasing any names.

"She was bubbly. She was cheerful. She was 19-years-old," said Chapman.

PBSO said it is an "ongoing investigation" and that the "violent crimes division and crime scene unit" are on scene.

In a Facebook post, the sheriff's office wrote, "there is no one in custody" and that "no motive for this crime has been determined."
"She got hooked up with the wrong guy and I tried to tell her and I tried to tell her. She was 19-years-old. There was nothing I could do. It's just sad," said Chapman. "A father should not have to bury his own children."

Anyone with information surrounding the homicide investigation should call Crimestoppers at 1.800.458.TIPS.
