No bond for teens charged with attempted murder in bump and rob

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Two 17-year-olds, linked by police to a 'bump and rob' crime, are being held without bond.

Michael Barnett made his first appearance in court Thursday morning, where a judge denied bond.  His roommate, Deonte Peterkins, was in court Wednesday according to the Palm Beach County Jail.  He was also denied bond.

Delray Beach Police say the two were involved in a violent 'bump and rob' scheme last Thursday on Military Trail in Delray Beach.

Investigators say the two bumped a car, and when the driver got out to check for damage, they said Peterkins shot him twice, threatened the passenger and took off without taking anything.

Law enforcement agencies have been warning drivers of this scheme for a few weeks.

At this time, the teens have not been linked to any other 'bump and rob' incidents.
