Walmart fight began when man entered through exit door, say police

Both men arrested after scuffle

NEWBURGH, Ind. - Two men were arrested Thursday after a scuffle at a southern Indiana Walmart store that began when one man came into the store through the exit door, police said.

Indiana State Police were called to the Walmart in Newburgh and subsequently arrested Bennie Duvall, 64, of Newburgh, and Brandon Leeds, 28, of Boonville.

Police said Duvall became angry when he saw Leeds come into the store through the exit doors.

"Duvall allegedly punched Leeds after they exchanged words," said Todd Ringle, public information officer for ISP's Evansville district.

Duvall was arrested on a battery charge, and Leeds was also arrested after authorities found he was wanted on a warrant out of Warrick County for failure to appear in court.

Duvall and Leeds were each taken to the Warrick County Jail. Both were released after posting bond.
