TSA collected more than a half million dollars last year, from airports across the country and used it to supplement their budget according to Congress.
Tuesday, lawmakers passed a bill that would require TSA to donate that money to non-profit organizations.
The House passed the TSA Loose Change Act. House said the money will go to the USO, to help improve rest areas used by armed forces and their family members at airports.
Miami International Airport was at the top of the list when it came to the most change collected last year.
TSA collected almost $40,000.00 in loose change.
The Senate is expected to vote on the bill once lawmakers return from Thanksgiving break.
