Tornado victims identified: Oklahoma medical examiner releases IDs, causes of death for victims

MOORE, Okla. - The identities of Monday's Moore tornado victims are being released as family notifications continue.
Twenty-four people were killed in the EF-5 tornado that ripped through Moore and Oklahoma City just after 3 p.m., hitting two schools head on and destroying hundreds of homes. Ten children are among the dead.
The first victim's name was released Tuesday by the father of Ja'Nae Hornsby. The 9-year-old was among seven students at Plaza Towers Elementary School who were found dead Monday evening, having drowned under the rubble.
All but one victim has been identified by the medical examiner's office. The identities of eight victims are being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.

Preliminary causes of death include blunt force trauma injuries and asphyxiation.
