(NBC) A massive wave knocked a surfer off his board off the coast of Maui, swallowing him whole and it was all caught on video.
You can only image what was going through surfer Tom Dosland's mind Wednesday as he caught the wave.
He later described it as a sea monster rising out of the ocean.
The monster won this time. Video shows him bailing off the board
The terrifying free fall had witnesses holding their breathes.
