After leaving their toddler with what they thought was a trusted babysitter, a Sherwood, Oregon couple frustrated with the legal system is now taking their case of child abuse to Facebook.

Alicia Quinney and Joshua Marbury posted pictures of their abused son Jacob online and the response has been an outpouring of anger and frustration. The photos were taken one day after the couple found their child alone on the floor in his room crying.

When the couple arrived back at their home after leaving him with the sitter, the person they trusted to watch their children was asleep on the couch.

"The first thing I saw was Jacob’s black eye," Quinney told KPTV. "And I was like, oh my gosh, what happened? And he turned over and the whole side of his face was black and blue."

"I saw the evidence and what the doctors told me and showed me, of a handprint on his face," Marbury said. "There’s no denying what he did."

The parents then took their son to the hospital. Doctors and social workers also took pictures and filed a police report.

A spokesman with the Sherwood Police Department told KPTV the case is under investigation and now in the hands of the Washington County District Attorney.

Marbury and Quinney say the prosecutor on the case told them that at this time there isn’t enough evidence to bring charges against the suspect, according to KPTV.

And now, more than two months after the incident, there has still not been an arrest.

This prompted Marbury to post photos of the toddler to Facebook last Friday and they’ve now been shared over 300,000 times.

A petition on Change.org has now garnered almost 15,000 signatures.
