Criminal charges are not forthcoming after an amusement ride malfunction led to the death of an 18-year-old at the Ohio State Fair.

Franklin (Ohio) County prosecutor Ron O'Brien determined there was not enough evidence, according to the Journal News in Butler County, Ohio

Tyler Jarrell, 18, died in the ride accident, while seven others were injured when the "Fire Ball" ride flung people into the air and scattered debris. Jarrell was a Marine Corps recruit.

More than 80 people were interviewed to determine whether a crime was committed in the death. The Ohio Highway Patrol also inspected the ride and worked with state departments as well as the ride owner, according to the Journal News.
