Marco Rubio: Winner of Florida primary will be GOP nominee

With three different winners in the three contests so far, Florida could be the state to put one of the four remaining major GOP candidates firmly into the front-runner position.

50 delegates are at stake in Tuesday's primary.

That's the largest haul so far in the primary and caucus calendar.

Senator Marco Rubio of Florida said the winner will likely be the eventual GOP nominee.

He told CNN:

"I think the winner of Florida is in all likelihood going to be the nominee of our party. And rightfully so. As you just said, Florida is a mini America. Virtually every issue we want our nominee to be conversant and convincing on is an issue we've had to confront here in Florida. So we'll wait for the results. I don't know what they're going to be. We all follow the polls but let's see because we don't have an election day in Florida, we have an election week. People have been voting in Florida for more than a week with the absentee ballots."
