George Bermudez: Texas officer trips high school kids rushing field to celebrate state title win

GEORGETOWN, Texas - A police officer in Texas has been placed on paid administrative leave after video showed him tripping high school students Saturday after a state championship soccer game, reported NBC affiliate KXAN .

Cellphone video shows Georgetown Officer George Bermudez tripping and pushing students as they rush onto the field after Vandegrift High School’s win in the University Interscholastic League championship game on Saturday.

Bermudez can be seen sticking his leg out to trip a high school student. He then tries to trip another student.

The officer has been with the department since 2005, according to KXAN.
