FBI aims to curb 'lasing,' the dangerous practice of shining a laser into an airplane cockpit

The FBI is taking dead aim at "lasing" -- the dangerous practice of shining a laser into the cockpit of an airplane.

The agency says attacks are on the rise: from nearly 400 in 2005 to nearly four-thousand last year.

Now it's expanding a reward program, offering 10-thousand dollars for information leading to an arrest.

The program began in 12 cities nearly four months ago and is now expanding to all 50 states, Guam and Puerto Rico.

The rewards will be available for the next 90 days.
