NEW YORK -- The mother accused of running a multimillion-dollar escort service in Manhattan spoke with the Today Show's Matt Lauer in an exclusive interview Thursday morning.
Anna Gristina, a mother of four who has been dubbed the "Soccer Mom Madam,'' said that her arrest is "decimating'' her family, according to the Today Show.
A New York appeals court on Tuesday drastically reduced bail for Gristina, 44, dropping the original $2 million bond to $250,000, according to court documents.
Gristina was arrested February 22 and has pleaded not guilty to charges of promoting prostitution, allegedly running the ring out of an Upper East Side apartment.
A New York judge had earlier denied a request to reduce Gristina's bail.
Prosecutor Charles Linehan said his office had requested the large bail because Gristina is considered "an extremely high flight risk."
But the appellate court found that the bail "was unreasonable and an abuse of discretion."
Jaynie Baker, a suspected co-conspirator in the alleged ring, has also pleaded not guilty after turning herself in to authorities upon her return from a Mexico vacation.
Baker, 30, has been charged with promoting prostitution in the third degree. She was released after posting $100,000 bail and surrendering her passport.
Her attorney, Robert Gottlieb, said Baker was vacationing in Cabo San Lucas and was recently alerted to the case by her friends and had not been avoiding authorities.
The Today Show interview with Gristina will be posted here shortly.
